Job scope

BIM Specialist is responsible for advancing our BIM capabilities by developing scripts and automation processes, create ways of working to capture digital as-built information, ensuring BIM standards are maintained, and supporting project teams in complex BIM- related tasks. The specialists expertise will contribute to improve our BIM workflows, optimizing model management, and ensuring the successful execution of projects. The specialists ability to liaise between technical and design teams, coupled with her/his deep understanding of BIM software, will be pivotal in advancing our digital design and construction efforts.

The responsibilities of a BIM Specialist extend beyond mere technological development; they also encompass the crucial task of ensuring seamless coordination within their assigned projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement automation scripts.

• Maintain and ensure adherence to BIM standards, best practices, and documentation

requirements.

• Assist project teams in utilizing BIM software and tools, ensuring the accurate execution of

models and drawings.

• Provide training and mentorship to staff on BIM technologies and workflows.

• Offer technical support and troubleshoot BIM software issues.

• Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and methodologies, proposing improvements to

internal processes.

• Liaise between technical, design, and construction teams to ensure BIM objectives are met.

• Conduct quality control checks on BIM models to ensure accuracy and compliance with

standards.

• Prepare and submit reports on BIM model progress, quality, and compliance.

• Handling the 3D scan procedure and creating ways of working to capture as-built data of

executed projects.

• Clash Detection and communication.

• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager Projects & Upgrades Engineering.

Accountability/Authorization

The BIM Specialist is accountable to:

• Comply with company processes and procedures on BIM.

• Ensure the delivery of BIM information is on-time, within scope, and in compliance with

quality, safety, and sustainability goals.

BIM Specialist has the following authorities:

• Approve NV Ett specific BIM guidelines, procedures, technical standards and specifications.

• Determine of codes, technologies and methodologies to be followed for BIM.

• Develop strategies for BIM within the approved budget and timeline.

• Coordinate BIM-related engineering activities, ensuring effective communication and

execution of deliverables.

Requirements

Educational background and previous experience required for the role.

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a relevant field.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in BIM coordination, scripting, and automation.

• Proficient in various BIM packages including Autodesk, Revizto, Trimble, Graphisoft.

• Strong understanding of scripting languages such as Python or Dynamo.

• Knowledge of BIM standards, processes, and workflows.

• Excellent IT knowledge and troubleshooting skills.

• Willingness to stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and methodologies.

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
